A long leaden fairy tale in which the Queen's wicked stepsister tries to seize power by stealing and spellbinding first one young heir, then the next, is thwarted by two look-alike jesters and their good witch ally. Talk fills in the sparse action for whoever was absent and explains, explains, explains;: polemic spells out the conflict of good and evil. As for Taash, the first prince lost and found and the nominal hero, he has no identity except as a pawn. Dispirited tedium.
