KIRKUS REVIEW

The Dodd Mead prize novel, which is a good family story, with a nice feel of the family homestead held to traditional standards through five generations of Livingstons. The emphasis is on the modern recurrence of the generation by generation conflict between two sisters, Julia and Gabrielle.
