CLARA THE FORTUNETELLING CHICKEN

Clara the gypsy chicken is one of those happy-go-lucky swindlers who blow on and off the scene leaving joy in their wake. The locale of this episode is a sheep farm where Clara clips the morose residents' wool in return for foretelling cheery futures--all to be accomplished by the first snowfall. And when an early snow brings them only shivers and catches Clara still on the premises, she appeases the sheep by doling out the garments she's made from their wool and pointing out how their own jubilant reactions to their fortunes have proven them true. Fair enough, but Clara hasn't the style of a first-class flimflam artist.
