Anthology of detective stories involving a variety of sports -- rod, gun, ring, as well as such indoor games, hobbies, etc. A judicious, diverse collection, old and new, known and less known contributors. My query is whether when you limit selection by one common denominator, you get as high a standing as you would without the stricture. As an anthology of detective stories, I've read better ones. But there are men not otherwise addicts who will like this because of the sport angle. It includes Sherlock Holmes, and Charteris' Saint, and Bentley's Philip Trent, and Christie's Poirot, and Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey. Among the authors -- Chesterton, Queen, Dashiell Hammett, Rufus King, etc. May rate a double market, with emphasis on detective story fans.
