KIRKUS REVIEW

There's a little bit of murder, a good deal of stock Western, and 431 pages of esoteric exploits, as the omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent Homer Evans takes Montana as his stage to save sharpshooter Miriam's cattle-raising father from the unscrupulous warfare of enemy sheepman, with his allies of gangsters and Indians. The Homer Evans' cult is something that we cannot understand -- but it is there.
