Uncle Bill brings him by sailing ship, the lonely Cullifer children laugh at his antics, Pa fumes because he unsettles the cow, scatters the chickens, panics the mule--so Monk(ey) must go back to Uncle Bill when he puts in to shore again. Comes a storm and everybody misses Monk; but the next morning--""what a surprise!""--the ship is still anchored. Pa agrees to get Monk, the ship sails, the Cullifers row after, Monk is retrieved. Monk's misadventures include rapid-fire attacks by a wolf, a puma, a bear and an alligator, and altogether this monkey is busier than a barrel full. A thin story otherwise, not much helped by the rather drab black-and-white drawings.
