KIRKUS REVIEW

A bit more of a story than last year's Down the Mountain, and a little more conventionality in the pictures, but Ellis Credle has found a formula that works, and children will love the adventures of the plantation children, Billy and Pig Tail, the white children, and the darkies, Atlantic and Pacific, with the omnipresent Magnolia Blossom in tow.
