DEATH AND THE JOYFUL WOMAN

The Death (1960) centered on a youngster; this once again uses a 14-year old, , as a junior detective. He is the son of the county C.I.D. and runs counter to his Cather's po tures, for he champions Kitty Norris, charged with murder, and with his teen aged loyalty works to prove her innocence. The older Feise stays on the trail, works over his boy's reluctant admissions -- and wins through to truth. A boy achieves almost adult status in the process.
