THE HORN OF ROLAND

A Tyrolean town festival this time (you'll have to summon up your own enthusiasm) where Lucas, now a great musician, returns to his pre-World War II village to face not only acclaim but the threats of the child of one of those who tried to escape with him and didn't make it. The last minute resolution (in which the revenge becomes a romance) is just too sudden to be believable but otherwise it's barely all right for that garden path readership -- prim and picturesque.
