KIRKUS REVIEW

A tiny mystery tucked into dewey-eyed West Point-and-engagement tremors. Joan Andrews, whose story began with Anchor for her Heart, and continued in Window By the Sea, appears again engaged to West Pointer Bill Ambler. But it is thirteen-year-old Judy, her step-sister, who solves the mystery of the deserted house next door, and helps Larry Gilmore -- fourteen and raw material for future love interest -- to bring about an advantageous reconciliation between his mother and rich uncle. Joan has troubles, too, alternating between joy and depression about Bill's desire to fly for Navy. With the sub-deb chatter, boy interest and familiar characters typical of this slick series.
