KIRKUS REVIEW

This has more good common sense for practical application to the problems facing most speakers than any other book of the kind I have read. Elmer Wheeler, whose ""tested sentences"" have made him famous in advertising circles, was tongue tied as a young reporter. Here he shares his experiences, gives formulae for making friends, winning people over, conquering fears, speaking before groups. He highspots common errors, suggests the do's and don'ts of speaking and even includes advice on care and feeding of speakers for the benefit of program chairmen and club presidents. There are tricks to every trade and he has marshalled many of the good ones.
