PERILOUS VOYAGE

An involved but inventive story of the early days of the Christian church and a young mountain boy who learns to apply some of the new ideas of the strange religion after meeting the Apostle Paul. Rufus, son of a mountain chief, finds himself in the position of a slave when he is seized in turn by a rival tribe, and some Roman soldiers. The slave of Commander Metellus, headed for Rome, Rufus is aboard the same ship as the Apostle Paul, and the Christian teachings which forbid revenge on an enemy, and the perils of that voyage reveal to Rufus the correct path to take as the wronged son of a chief, and as a Christian. Too many short cuts taken in regard to background material for this period, but hardly harmful.
