THE INCENDIARY FELLOWSHIP by Elton Trueblood

THE INCENDIARY FELLOWSHIP

The author identifies this little book as a sequel to his Company Of The Committed, which appeared five years ago. He finds the great emphasis of the present point in the history of the church as centering on Church renewal, a movement which he believes has now progressed far enough that some conclusions may be drawn. The book does not seem to fulfill the expectations that this position raises. The contents will strike the readers of earlier Trueblood writings as coming from the same vein of illustration, affirmation, and essential outlook that characterizes earlier volumes. This addition would appear at times to be so discursive as almost to loss the thread of sustained argument. The title has a sufficiently radical sound, but unfortunately the book itself does not seem likely to set many people on fire.
