A PATCHWORK, APPLIQUE AND QUILTING PRIMER

Pub Date: May 27th, 1975
Publisher: Lothrop, Lee & Shepard

An adequate but unstimulating introducton, with some preliminary pointers on embroidery stitches and how to make and use a window template (more important with pieced patches than with applique), a few words on design (mostly random squares or triangles or simple circles of hexagons), and then the projects which employ different stitchery techniques. The items range from craft standards (belts, pillows, hangings) to gimmicks (chest warmer, tennis racket cover) and are done in patchwork, applique, reverse applique (on felt which cuts down on hemming), quilting, ""instant quilting"" and even paste jobs called ""no-sew patching.
