Three excellent brief sketches of Mussolini, Stalin and Hitler, using old material (based on personal interviews) but dressing it up to read like new. Ludwig considers Mussolini the stronger personality, Stalin the man of conviction, Hitler a pathological case, the only lunatic among the dictators. He believes he has built a house of cards that will collapse under a sign of defeat, for Germans have lived too long in a state of tension. Mussolini he feels has lost ground, through the Abyssinian War, has made Italy less loved and less feared. Stalin he sees as arch conspirator and opportunist, using Hitler only until he can overcome him.
