KIRKUS REVIEW

Dora, young, self-effacing, and easily intimidated, runs off to New York and away from her charming, cruel stepbrother who is murdered. Mark's friends- particularly women- find her a convenient suspect, but an across-the-hall neighbor, Spainward, is protective and gives some supportive leads to the police. A hybrid (mystery-romance) is still for a single sexed audience and is a pleasant form of mild perturbation.
