THE SECRET SEVEN AND THE MYSTERY OF THE EMPTY HOUSE

When Jack sneaks out at night to retrieve his secret seven badge (he can't get into a club meeting without it), he sees a truck drive up and unload something at the empty house across the way and hears all sorts of snorting and squealing and struggling. The next evening the four male members of the secret seven (they don't allow the girls to come along) disguise as snowmen and investigate the house, discovering in the basement a famous racehorse that has just been kidnapped. One of fifteen flimsy and old fangled Secret Seven Adventures by Enid Blyton that Childrens Press is currently reissuing.
