War dogs, fire house dogs, sporting dogs, shepherd dogs, and just plain dogs receive tribute from such time-tested writers as Terhune, Ernest Thompson Seton, Don Marquis, Arthur Train, Tarkington, Mark Twain, Curwood, Zane Grey, Frank Buck. Not top drawer, but worth listing.
