Here, for the Kon-Tiki enthusiasts, is another adventure tale of the Pacific waters, as sixty five year old Eric de Bisschop sets out with his bamboo raft, voyaging cast against unknown currents and winds, to disprove some of the theories of Heyerdahl and other anthropologists. His raft was constructed Polynesian fashion with movable center-boards, and his seven months journey took him and his companions from Tahiti to close to Juan Fernandez, where a storm necessitated their resorting to a tow and subsequently a transfer for the completed voyage to Chile. An enthralling log of the voyage records the building of the Tahiti Nui and the events of the months at sea.
