A rather fabulous fable tells of the strange haunting of Johnny Kennedy by the ghost of Paddy O'Malley which he inherits under the dead man's will. Working in a suburban bank, engaged to marry the president's daughter, Johnny is hurt in an auto accident and it is then that Paddy's belligerence and charm take hold of his personality. He tells off the president, loses his job, takes a fling at prize fighting and wins. He finds the rest of his inheritance in Mary Moore and decides to work for her. But in loyalty to his backers he continues fighting, makes good with Mary and in a last fight comes face to face with the truth of his visitation. Light-handed, lightly handled popular reading with the Hatch brand of humor, which is not so strongly farcical as before.
