MY MAN GODFREY

Cockeyed situations -- page Eric Hatch for those -- the story of a down and outer given a chance, through a treasure hunt, to become the butler of a wealthy family. Complications arise when one daughter loves him, another hates him, the mother tries to make him,and the father involves him in the bolstering up of a failing bank's credit. After a nasty brush with the ex-wife, the pseudo butler is able to marry the dumb, but comprehending, daughter. Quite a bit of drinking -- and a touch of iron.
