MYSTERY OF THE OLD FIELD

Young Colin adjusts with difficulty to his new city home in Wheatleigh, England. As historical mystery seems to surround the lad, he forgets about being homesick for the country. In school he learns about the history of the city. The ale of the great manor and the squire who collected silver in the early 1800's ntrigues Colin who has just found an old silver case while playing. With only a assage from the squire's poetry as a clue, Colin and his companion Roy unravel the ntricate mystery step by logical step, and discover the highly valued buried treasure. They also must contend with a meddling classmate who nearly gets there first by underhanded spying. Characterization nil; plot preposterous.
