The President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce transcribes here his hopes, aspirations and beliefs which -- though not original -- he claims are typical of those held by the majority of Americans. They represent , predictably, a conservative, status quo, dollars and cents point of view. How the problems of management and labor can be obviated provided there is greater cooperation down (and up) the line; how abundance for all is possible under capitalism; how in the conflict between individualism versus statism, the former must be retained; how expansion in all fields will be realized; a projection of a ""people's capitalism"" -- the society of tomorrow; the New Deal, criticized for methods, rather than objectives; the inequalities of the tax systems; good neighbor missions; and-- in closing -- freedom and opportunity for all. Just what certain types of readers want to read -- even though oversimplification and optimism ignore many realities of the world today.
