Here's a dog story designated for juvenile sales, but we feel that it has a chance of the double market in the same sense that Greyfriar's Bobby holds its place in the sun. The Marguerite Kirmse illustrations are another factor, which will make it appeal to all dog lovers. The story of a courageous collie, told against the Yorkshire background that Eric Knight knows and reflects so well. Lassie belongs to a collier -- and the soft berth of life with the neighboring Duke is not to her liking. She is taken four hundred miles, and she finds her way home. For full report see page 251, in the juvenile section. Perhaps this is the sort of relief one needs from tension of headlines and radio these days.
