KIRKUS REVIEW

An early novel (1934) by the author of This Above All in which Knight tells the story of product of World War number one. An unhappy tale of disillusion, of wandering from woman to woman, seeking security and lasting love. Three of them loved him, but his bitterness over the death of the wife he had lost blinded him to their love. Interesting enough reading, as a good, realistic novel, with an incredible denouement -- but its chief value lies in evidence, forcibly prdsented, of the strides Knight has made in technique, philosophy and grasp of his medium.
