A modern turn of the Lysistrata theme. The story of a love strike, called by an Englishwoman of title, as the women's weapon to end war between England and France, a war which has set Europe on fire. The women seize the war building; the army battles them with sandbags; an army of Scotchwomen save the day. the women of the world join their forces -- and the war ends. Then, for a time, women are in the saddle, but eventually the men take over. Linklater has used his barbed pen to good advantage, though his stuff is thin.
