KIRKUS REVIEW

. . . and more applause for Erica Wilson's beautifully varied collection of needlework projects, the companion piece to her recent PBS series. The background information on sources and adaptive techniques is illuminating and the workmanship tips are exceptional, even though several complicated procedures sound easier than they are. The projects themselves, calling for traditional and contemporary techniques, can suit a range of tastes and ages--from Peter Rabbit in latch hooking, with just the right tilt to his head, to quite sophisticated and exotic items. Erica is subtle with color, playful with design, and clever with textural variation, and she turns each piece--a trapunto jacket, a shadow-stitched organdy table mat--into a composition of enduring charm.
