KIRKUS REVIEW

Large color photographs and clear diagrams as well as carefully outlined steps in crewel embroidery make this a book that determined young readers will be able to use by themselves. It is also a source of good ideas for teachers of arts and crafts. Each project, from a pillow to a pocketbook, is in itself a lesson plan, which is not unusual because Miss Wilson is a well known teacher of the crewel embroider's art. Her adult book, Crewel Embroidery (1962) is considered the standard reference.
