THE CASE OF THE PHANTOM FORTUNE

By

Pub Date: May 20th, 1964

The fortune adds up to real money-- $47,000 in the suitcase of wealthy Lorna Warren, once the secretary of a promoter since jailed, now paroled. Perry Mason, acting for the Warrens, stands between them and the police, but eventually gets both behind and ahead of the law in solving the murder which follows extortion. Lots of privacy invaders (rough and smooth shadows, etc.) adding procedural detail to an efficient story. The audience requires even less guesswork- it's automatic.
