THE CASE OF THE EMPTY TIN

This has all the tricks of the routine Perry Mason yarn, but it seems to supply too many false clus and too much manipulation for a solution that seems fairly probable from the start. Apparently normal household, with various complexities appearing as the story unfolds, disappearance, two murders, a case of dual identity, and two faked misleads throw one this way and that away from the identity of murderer and accomplice. Chinese gun running and Japanese spies give contemporary feel.
