KIRKUS REVIEW

He can still trick the reader as well as the court, can Perry Mason, who this time finds he has almost tricked himself. But when it is a case of two falsified identities, Perry manages to come through with a clean slate for his client. There's murder, blackmail, the baby racket and a fancy lot of suspects involved in what looks- to all but Perry and his faithful twosome -- like two distinct cases. And it takes a lot of Perry's reliable trickery and playing on the edge of the law to untangle it all. At that, there seem a few weak spots, but it's good reading to the end.
