See page 289 of the May 15th (1954) Bulletin for the report on the first titles in the new Hanover House series- of historical novels rewritten for young adult readers. Now, our opinion stands unchanged. We still think the adaptations are unnecessary. We repeat that when the books first came out we recommended most of them for young adults and for our tastes they remain more palatable and interesting in their original forms, but undoubtedly the adaptations will have their ""quick dose"" appeal and may do their bit in the weaning process- away from escape literature and the comics.
