This may have a certain nostalgic interest for the generation brought up on Wild Animals I Have Known and other near-classics in Thompson Seton's nature stories. This is the story of the life behind the stories, and much of the material that has gone into building the stories is suggested in this record. An early childhood in Scotland; long years, at broken intervals in Canada, where he lived a frontier life; experiences in the Northwest and the Southwest -- and between times, periods in the civilization of London and New York. The story is oddly lurid at times; there is almost a streak of cruelty -- but much of it makes interesting reading.
