PEZZO THE PEDDLER and the Circus Elephant

You may not recognize the peddler's name but you'll recognize the pile of caps, still for sale twenty years later. This time it's a circus elephant who tumbles them with his trunk while Pezzo is watching the parade, and the peddler can see just where they are--the clowns and the jugglers and the tumblers are using them in their acts. But no one can balance them like the peddler can, so the Big Boss invites him to join the circus where he sells out every night. It's a sell-out, too, of a very satisfying situation--Pezzo has no business making a spectacle of himself; he belongs among the everyday extraordinary.
