JOHNNY TREMAIN

Johnny was the youthful and cocky apprentice of a silversmith in Boston of Paul Rever's time, and an accident which destroyed the value of his right hand almost wrecked his life. In the process of finding himself again, he became close friends with a printer's lad, and began to play his own part in the early steps leading to revolution. The contacts with the great men of Boston in those days play a part in the picture. The story -- the adventure -- the romance all take second and third place to the feel of the times, but there is ample incident to carry the tale along. Esther Forbes can write for all ages.
