A chuna is a bird of the Argentine which throws stones with its beak. Little Mario caught one and trained it to throw pebbles to scare birds from the cornfield, but Tiro threw them at other things besides and was banished time and time again, by Mario's father. But when Tiro saved Mario's father's life in the earthquake it was a different matter. Mario's way of handling his father is not exactly admirable, but the Argentine setting is well done in both the story and the unusual pictures. Bound in cloth.
