KIRKUS REVIEW

A boy trying to prove his maturity takes on a female Loner as partner in his bait business, and after a twister traps the boy for days in an underground cave, both get what they've longed for he, the recognition from his parents that he can take care of himself in a tight spot; she, an expression of concern from the migrant grandfather she lives with. The scene in the cave has its tense moments, and the natural background is sensitively drawn as expected, but it is all so obviously manipulated to fit the trite and tidy schema thai we're left in the end with a routine adventure and a wrap-up that just doesn't convince.
