KIRKUS REVIEW

With strut and swagger in Merman tells her story and belts it out that she knows she's good. Entering show business via stenography, she sang- and loud- her way into Girl Crazy and from then on with Berlin, Gershwin, Porter and the others- she carved herself a name. Plenty of anecdotes here, and, for those who like her- likeable.
