KIRKUS REVIEW

This was a good idea, but disappointing in execution. The photographs are stimulating, and compensate by their variety and clarity, and the story they tell, for the utterly uninspired and often perfunctory and patronizing text. Milk (and its byproducts), meat, bread, fruits, vegetables, poultry -- from source to market. The introduction of constant questions into the explanatory text, and the omission of answers -- other than those readers can supply -- almost necessitates participation by an adult.
