SOWN AMONG THORNS

On Anthea's wedding eve to Captain Dennis Elliot -- a dashing, dark man who distributes cat's eye rings, et al, the engagement is ruptured because Anthea's mother dies -- and she cannot leave her aged father. The village yokel, Charlie, an innkeeper's son, fills in the gap in Anthea's life and she eventually marries him -- only to have Dennis come back from India where he was stationed and attempt to kidnap her. The villain dies -- leaving Anthea to Charlie. In Ethel's bright fuschia manner, and for those who have not outgrown her.
