KIRKUS REVIEW

A lesson in relations within space by the author of The Size of It, this little book with the hard board cover and amusing drawings is ideal for the elementary school classroom, as a preliminary to arithmetic. What is up? What is down? Top? Bottom? Low? Under? Over? All of these questions are answered within the limited but highly elastic boundaries of the child's experience, with the emphasis on his participation in ups and downs, unders and overs. A sense of fresh discovery which children of this age are eager to share aids in putting over some essentially abstract concepts.
