NOW YOU'RE COOKIN'

A good team this- and a good book is the result. Margaret Gossett did a picture cookbook for younger children which has been popular. Now- in collaboration with Mary Elting, she has given us a bright, sprightly text, with practical, detailed instructions on how to feed the gang, in masses, singly, indoors or out. There are details on how to plan, execute and mop up as well as market, cook and serve a meal. There's a kitchen party, lunch before the game, elegant supper on a tray, breakfast parties, double dinner date, snow hike, Christmas doings, progressive dinner party, breakfast in bed, the manly stew, hiking and biking, benefits, and a great quantity of workable and imaginative menus-cum-recipes. The recipe index at the end doesn't really take the place of the kind of cross index a cookbook should have. But otherwise it's a must for the teens-and a borrow for mother (and father).
