KIRKUS REVIEW

Companion volume to Random House collection of Pulitzer Prize Plays, differing from that in that this is a collection of selections from every book of poetry that has won a Pulitzer Award, therefore constituting a cross section of outstanding American verse. While the majority of our representative poets are included, there are also poets to whom this award has gone, who deserve wider recognition than they have had. This anthology should reemphasize their worth.
