KIRKUS REVIEW

An attractive edition of a 19th-century poem originally entitled ""The Duel,"" here set in a quiet antique shop where the ""old Dutch Clock and the Chinese plate"" are appropriately horrified when the dog and cat are so rude as to eat each other up. Street's bright, economical paintings have a lively humor that should recommend this wry classic to new readers.
