STRATEGY AT SINGAPORE

A reference book, largely, supplying background to Singapore, in a report on the naval base, its conception, construction and destruction, and the naval, political, and military problems it entailed. The problem of an English base in the Far East went through a decade (from 1921 on) of discussion and home politics, acceptance, abandonment, and final accomplishment, only to be destroyed in a few hours. Singapore is an all-important wedge to the East. It must be retaken.
