LOVE YOU GOOD, SEE YOU LATER

A lighthearted poke at the Old South with a daft but likeable cast engaging in intra-familial buffoonery. When merchant seaman Claud receives an urgent amatory telegram from Amelie, circa fifty years of age and of ""big presence"", from her manse near Mobile, he flies thither on wings of anticipation, for Amelie, capering royally with the license of the Magnolia and Fan Club, is apt to plunge into passions grande and extraordinaire. Claud is not disappointed, although he is somewhat bemused by the family -- two lively little nephews; an edgy adolescent, Margaret, presumably Amelie's granddaughter, neighboring Neddy, Amelie's brother and spiritual alter ego; and Amelie K., shock-absorbent housekeeper. The household fairly bristles with Amelie as she duels with Margaret, raising some small ghosts with ventriloquism, takes a firm direction in amorous adventures, and denounces white trash with bulldozers who are about to invade. At last Claud capitulates, falls in love with Margaret, while Amelie paints flowers and keeps a lover. Merry magnolias.
