MAGPIE HILL

What could be more natural than a camel in the midst of a desert? Almost anything, if that desert happens to be smack in the midst of modern America. How Tad Bean, and his cat Jellybean get involved with one camel who subsequently leads them to another camel, who, in turn leads them to a fabulous gold mine, is the story of this slightly more than usually wild, wild-west adventure. Alan Moyler's pixilated black and white illustrations and Eugenia Stone's unabashed ability to any it convincingly, make the tale of Magpie Hill an endearing and riotous bit of desert madness.
