An extremely human and humane account of a children's home reveals the many problems that are encountered and the sensitive, sensible methods of handling them. It is primarily of social service interest, but the telling is so warmly sympathetic, the issues are so well presented that it makes appealing reading for any parents. There's child psychology applied 45 times over, there are the physical questions of room decoration, of health, of the actual running of the home, and there is always the child as the focus of all thinking and planning. Social work in the best of the modern techniques that is of wider interest than would be ordinarily be expected.
