YOUNG FOLK OF THE AMERICAS

An excellent idea that doesn't come off, mainly because it is too ambitious. A young boy's dream, in which he visits all the countries of South and Central America, the United States and Canada. One page of text is given to each country, giving a smattering of knowledge of its history, industry and costume, and facing each text page is a picture, beautifully colored and reproduced but much-too-static-format-for-the-text. The content of the text is gauged for the 9-12 age level, though the book's format will give the impression that it is meant for younger children. The book has a spiral plastic binding, planned for easy removal of the pictures for framing or use for well decoration.
