KIRKUS REVIEW

The favorite ploy of the lady espionage writer is to turn a perfectly harmless, hardworking bachelor journalist into an undercover agent in a foreign clime (for reasons that are never made clear to him or the reader) and to surround him with much action, a heroic solution and a tender love story. The setting is Finland, where the population is naturally wary of neighboring Russia. Luke Ramsey is the newspaperman-hero and the plot --well, let's just say he's darn lucky. Unlikely as the dickens, but intellectually effortless escape.
